What I was ready to take the CISSP exam I searched the web looking for different websites and programs that would show me how to pass the CISSP. I’ve been through several programs and even had a go for some untraditional ethical hacker training but I was still unsure myself and wanted more information on the exam. I found out that forums on ethical hacker training were the best resource on the Internet. Otherwise I would have spent countless hours searching through web pages that did nothing but promote CISSP education and test preparation sites. In the forum sites I could read about how people had prepared to take the exam, strategies on test day, and basic insights from people who have had the experience that I was about to undertake.
These forums were very informative and gave me plenty of strategies before the actual test day. With these helpful hints I was better prepared because I followed their advice and created a study schedule that allowed me this to explore the domains that I was unfamiliar with. While I concentrated on those domains intensely, I still put into that study schedule time to rethink and rework the domains that I was familiar with and work with every day. Without these forums I am sure I would have spent a lot of money getting retrained on things that I was deficient at or paying out the nose for a test preparation booklet that did not have any real world applications or experience like the forums that I found.
