A windows blinds company could use a keyword rich article written for their website as a post on an Internet news website in order to gain more customers to their online store or their real-world brick-and-mortar store.
A keyword rich article means an article written using keywords or keyword phrases that customers would use in a search engine box to find what they are looking for, in this case window blinds. The three major search engines – MSN, Google and Yahoo! – send out “feelers” in order to find these keywords or keyword phrases on websites and then rank them according to a special formula before placing them on their search engine pages. Having a high ranking on the search engine pages is needed in order to bring in more customers than the competition. The keyword rich article on a webpage is known as search engine optimization or as SEO.
