solar signsA solar sign, with LED flashing lights, draws attention to a sign better than a regular street sign without flashing lights.  Since the street signs are solar powered, meaning the lights are powered by the sun’s energy, there is no need for a generator or transformer, trenches or any other type of electricity running to the street sign. This could save a city thousands of dollars each year, in addition to saving taxpayers money on necessary items that are needed if someone runs a stop sign and causes an accident; police, fire and EMT-ambulances.

Solar signs will work on cloudy or overcast days for up to 12 hours continuously flashing their LED lights, using only the sun’s power.  These solar safety signs are water resistant, so they work in the rain and all types of weather conditions.  A company has even designed solar powered safety lights to be used alongside the solar powered safety signs.  These solar safety lights can be used anywhere light is needed, such as a construction site at night or to go up under the hood of a car and they are just as durable and bright as the solar signs are.
